Sustainable Building Materials in Domki Marysia– How We Create Eco-Friendly Living Spaces

Domki Marysia – A Sanctuary of Balance and Nature

Domki Marysia is more than just a series of prefab houses – it’s a lifestyle concept built around nature. Our mission is to create eco-conscious, healthy, and energy-efficient living spaces that can be assembled quickly, yet last for decades.

In this article, we explore the sustainable building materials used in our cottages and how every part of the construction contributes to a lower environmental impact.

Why Sustainable Building Matters

The construction sector is responsible for over 36% of global CO2 emissions. Traditional materials like concrete, steel, and polystyrene are energy-intensive and leave a carbon footprint that lasts for generations.

That’s why more and more designers and investors are turning to natural and renewable alternatives. From day one, Domki Marysia have been designed as low-impact prefab systems – using fewer resources, producing less waste, and staying close to what really matters: people and nature.

Natural Materials: Wood and Expanded Clay Concrete

Our structural base is either C24-certified construction wood or expanded clay concrete (keramzyt) – both known for their sustainability, thermal performance, and durability.

Wood is responsibly sourced and locally processed, reducing emissions and supporting regional forestry.

Keramzyt is a mineral-based material with excellent insulating properties, fire resistance, and long life span – ideal for year-round comfort.

Both materials allow us to build breathable, toxin-free spaces – a stark contrast to conventional OSB panels and plastic laminates.

Eco Insulation and Green Roofs

In Domki Marysia, we prioritize eco-conscious insulation systems, including:

  • Mineral wool – durable, fire-safe, commonly used in energy-efficient homes

  • Wood fiber – breathable, natural, ideal for prefab wall systems

  • Recycled cotton – optional alternative with good thermal properties

On rooftops, we increasingly install green roofing systems:

  • Sedum mats and local drought-resistant plants

  • Reduce rainwater runoff

  • Lower internal temperature during summer

  • Purify air and support biodiversity

We also offer recycled metal roofs and plug-and-play solar panel kits for selected models.

Beyond Materials: A Sustainable Way of Living

Domki Marysia promote an eco lifestyle not only in how homes are built, but in how they are lived in:

  • High-efficiency appliances (A++ and above)

  • Optional composting systems and rainwater collection

Our goal is to help people not only live in greener buildings, but also live more consciously, slowly, and closely to nature.
